Apr. 21-25

Tuesday – Friday – Review Scale and Area. Today we start our Dream Condo project. Begin by converting your units to Architectural with a 1/4″ precision. Next setup your layers using the attached document.

Apr. 14-18

Thursday – Presenting Koi Pond Documents. We will scale the drawing on a sheet of paper and add dimensions and a title block.

Wednesday – Plan out dream condo. Rview Scale and Area. Today we start our Dream Condo project. Begin by converting your units to Architectural with a 1/4″ precision. Next setup your layers using the attached document.

Monday – Tuesday – Finish Koi pond except for Dimensions layer.

Apr. 7-11

Wednesday – Friday – Koi Pond Assignment. Please complete the Koi Pond planning exercise before we get into landscape design using AutCAD. After doing some initial planning you will create a koi pond using AutoCAD. Be sure to convert all units to imperial with a 1/4″ precision and create layers for your objects.

Monday – Tuesday -Finish Oblique and Work on CAD 1A – 1D. The array function is useful of creating arrangements of objects. After working on the example with your teacher. Navigate to the Q:\ drive for the template file to begin with.

Mar. 17-21

Friday – Teacher Student Hockey Game and then Happy Spring Break.

Thursday – Continue CAD1 intro assignments 1a-1d.

Wednesday – Transition day to finish Kitchen assignment and then introduced array and explode tools for the introduction to the next one credit course. The array function is useful of creating arrangements of objects. After working on the example with your teacher. Navigate to the Q:\ drive for the template file to begin with.

Monday – Tuesday –  Oblique Kitchen Design kitchen. If Isometric objects are drawn at 30 degrees (Impossible Triangle or Cube), oblique forms are drawn at 45 degrees. Reproduce the kitchen in the attached file below. Be sure to set your polar tracking to 45 for this activity.

Mar. 17-21

Wednesday – Friday – Continued AutoCAD tools. Impossible Cube and Triangle assignments

Tuesday –  Continued AutoCAD tools. Name in isoCubes assignment.

Monday – Began AutoCAD basic tools introductions. JP LOGO assignment

Mar. 10-14

Monday – Friday. This week we will finish off our 2 point perspective drawings with shading and then we will start technically drafting a 3-D shape into front, top and side views. This is a very specific assignment so please do not go ahead without seeing me.

Mar. 3-7

Thursday –  Friday – Two-point perspective drawing is similar to one-point. The main difference is the page is divided in half and you draw your lines to one side or another. See the below activity for specific instructions. Do not start this without approval of your prospective design.

Monday – Wednesday –  Today we start our next one-credit course titled Technical Drafting. You first activity involves one-point perspective drawing of an office tower. Monday and Tuesday should be all about getting your tower drawn in perspective with as much detail as possible and Wednesday we will cover shading and fill in. Please do not do shading until you have looked at the lessons below.

Feb. 24-28

Thursday – Friday – Teachers Convention

Wednesday – Presentations and wrap up report based on presentations successes and changes. Fill out Design Brief totally and attach the Marking guideline to it and share with me. Write the reason for why you think you got each mark.

Tuesday –  Game Presentations

Monday – Finished games and put together presentations.

Feb. 17-21

Tuesday – Friday – Finish our design brief and complete our game rules in a document and our game mockup in sketchup. We will present next Monday. This is a heavily weighted assignment so please be diligent.

Monday – Family Day Long Weekend 🙂

Feb. 10-14

Friday – After you have experimented more with Sketchup when completing your chess set, you will now design a game with the software. Before you do that, complete the design brief. Be sure to answer all questions in complete sentences and be thorough. You can work in partners. :)

Wednesday and Thursday – After playing around with Sketchup, you will have a chance to create a chess set using the follow-me tool and grouping/component properties.

Tuesday – Finished poster for assignment 5 and started sketchup tutorials.

Feb. 3-7

 Friday – After watching the video and completing questions on the elements and principles of design you will have a chance to apply your knowledge.

Thursday – Marked principles of Design sheet together.

Wednesday – First reading assignment on the principles of design. Also watched two TED videos about design

Tuesday – First pre-assessment design drawing.

Monday – Designed our spaghetti towers
